Detailed Information/Report on Activities

Our previous studies have demonstrated the relationship between the number of teeth and nutritional intake. However, we had never investigated the explanations for those relationships qualitatively. Moreover, the understanding of how to improve food consumption by people who lose their teeth will help researchers design dietary interventions for elderly Japanese people. Therefore, this study explores the factors supporting, or hindering, healthy eating among partially dentate older persons and to inform the development of an appropriate theory-based dietary intervention for this population.
