Among the types of coal, brown coal is a great deal of resources. However, it is hardly used because of its high moisture content, high volatile matter and low calorific value. Furthermore, it has the disadvantage of spontaneous combustion when it is dried.
It also has advantages, such as low sulfur and ash contents. If these disadvantages are overcome, the use of brown coal would increase. In this research, energy field such as upgrading of coal and biomass and environment field has been studied. Furthermore, air quality control, PM generation control, desulfurization, denitrification is also research fields.
